Honey Chilli Burger on Milk Style Bun

Honey Chilli Burger on Milk Style Bun

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 Tip Top Milk Style Burger Bun
  • 1 beef patty
  • 2 streaky bacon rashers
  • 1 slice cheese
  • 1–2 tbsp chilli-spiced honey sauce (prepared as below)
  • 1 leaf butter lettuce (washed and separated)
  • 2 slices tomato
  • A few thinly sliced onion rings
  • 1–2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1–2 tbsp mild smoky BBQ sauce

Chilli-spiced honey sauce

  • 250 ml honey
  • 25 g fresh chilli, finely diced (about 1 large chili)
  • Juice of half a lemon

Method

  1. Prepare the Chili-Spiced Honey Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the honey, fresh chili and the lemon juice. Bring to a light simmer for 4–5 minutes to allow the flavours to infuse and the mixture to thicken. Allow the sauce to cool before using.

  2. Cook the Bacon and Beef Patty: Cook the bacon rashers until crispy. In a separate pan or on a grill, cook the beef patty. After flipping the patty, top it with the cheese slice so it melts during the final stage of cooking.

  3. Toast the Bun: Lightly toast the Tip Top Milk Style Burger Bun (top and bottom).

  4. Assemble the Burger: Spread a thin layer of the BBQ sauce on the bottom bun, then add the bacon. Place the beef patty with melted cheese on top and spoon the chili-spiced honey sauce liberally, allowing it to flow to the edges. Add the tomato slices, a leaf of butter lettuce, and a few onion rings. Finally, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the top bun and close the burger. Serve immediately.
