Steak and Cheese Sandwich on Speedibake Vietnamese Roll

Steak and Cheese Sandwich on Speedibake Vietnamese Roll

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 Speedibake Vietnamese Roll
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 100 g thinly sliced steak (e.g., rib fillet)
  • ¼ onion, thinly sliced
  • ¼ capsicum, thinly sliced
  • 1 sprig thyme (leaves picked, stem removed)
  • 2 slices provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Warm the Speedibake Vietnamese Roll in a hot oven for 3–4 minutes.

  2. Heat ½ tbsp olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the onion, capsicum, and thyme, sautéing for 5–7 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.

  3. In the same pan, heat the remaining olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then cook for 2–3 minutes, or until browned but tender.

  4. To assemble, layer the sautéed onions and capsicum into the roll, followed by the cooked steak slices. Place the cheese slices over the steak.

  5. For melted cheese, place the sandwich briefly under a grill or in a hot oven before serving.
